Rising Ohana’s CIC is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and adults at risk. We believe that everyone we engage with has the right to feel safe, respected, and protected from harm.
We recognise our responsibility to take all reasonable steps to safeguard individuals and families who engage with us through our community outreach, workshops, group activities, and any other services or support we provide. Our work is underpinned by a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach, and we strive to create safe, inclusive, and supportive environments at all times.
We are committed to:
- Providing safe and welcoming spaces within our community outreach and workshop settings
- Prioritising safety, dignity, and respect in all interactions
- Preventing abuse, neglect, exploitation, and harm
- Acting promptly and appropriately on any safeguarding concerns
- Working in partnership with families, professionals, and statutory agencies where required
All staff, volunteers, facilitators, and associates involved with Rising Ohana’s CIC are expected to:
- Uphold safeguarding principles at all times
- Follow our safeguarding policies and procedures
- Undertake safeguarding training appropriate to their role
- Remain vigilant and report any safeguarding concerns immediately in line with our procedures
Safeguarding concerns are taken seriously and are managed in accordance with current UK safeguarding legislation, statutory guidance, and local safeguarding arrangements.
