For Families & Individuals

Support for You and Your Family

At Rising Ohanas, we understand that every family is different, and sometimes life can bring challenges that are difficult to manage alone.

Whether you’re a parent looking for guidance, a young person needing someone to talk to, or a family trying to access the right services, we’re here to listen, understand and support you.

We offer practical and emotional support in your home and within the community, working at a pace that suits your needs. Our aim is to help you build confidence, develop your strengths and feel more supported in everyday life.

You don’t need to be referred by social services or a local authority to get in touch. Individuals and families can contact us directly and make their own referrals.

1. Community Support & Wellbeing

We offer one-to-one and family support for those who may need additional guidance, reassurance or practical help.

Support may include:

  • Emotional wellbeing, managing stress and parental anxiety.
  • Advocacy and help communicating with services or                           professionals.
  • Practical support at home or in the community.
  • Understanding and accessing available services.
  • Support for individuals with neurodivergent, learning or                      additional needs.
  • Building confidence, independence and everyday life skills.

Our support may begin with a six-week programme or continue for longer, depending on your circumstances and individual needs.

We’ll have a conversation with you, understand what support you’re looking for and agree together how we can help.

2. Parenting & Family Support

Parenting comes with many rewarding moments, but it can also feel overwhelming, particularly when you’re trying to understand your child’s needs or manage new experiences.

We provide a welcoming space where parents and carers can ask questions, develop skills and receive support without feeling judged.

Our support includes:

  • Parenting workshops and one-to-one guidance.
  • Building positive bonds and relationships with children.
  • Preparing for parenthood, including antenatal support.
  • Understanding children’s development and milestones.
  • Support with routines, boundaries and everyday parenting.
  • Understanding sensory, neurodivergent and additional needs.
  • Managing parental worries, anxiety and emotional wellbeing.
  • Advocacy and guidance when accessing services.

We begin by listening to you and understanding your circumstances so that support can be tailored to your family’s needs.

3. Outreach & Ongoing Community Support

At Rising Ohanas, we believe support should not always end when a programme finishes.

Through our outreach and community activities, families and individuals can continue to feel connected and supported.

When you join our community, you can find out about and access our available activities, workshops and opportunities, subject to individual programme arrangements.

These may include creative arts, wellbeing activities, fitness, parenting sessions and opportunities to meet other families.

Whether you need practical guidance, someone to listen or simply want to remain connected, our aim is to ensure that you know where to turn when additional support is needed.
